Recently, Professor QIU Shengxiang (Samuel X Qiu) is appointed by Tropical Journal of Pharmaceutical Research (TJPR) as associate editor, and the only member serving on the board from Asian countries. Dr. Qiu is the principal investigator of Research Group for Natural Product Medicinal Chemistry at South China Botanical Garden (SCBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China.

TJPR is indexed by Science Citation Index (SciSearch)，International Pharmaceutical Abstract, Chemical Abstracts，Embase, Index Copernicus, EBSCO, African Index Medicus，Journal Seek，Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), African Journal Online, Bioline International, and Open-J-Gate.

According to the editorial assignment, besides the participation business management, Prof. Qiu is primarily responsible for review and evaluation of manuscripts relevant to natural products, herbs and phytomedicines, including the assignment of reviewers, recruiting excellent research papers, and invitation of review articles from internationally renowned scholars.
