A delegation from Maruzen Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd in Japan visited South China Botanical Garden (SCBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences on May 26, 2010. Prof. HUANG Hongwen, the director of SCBG, and other researchers warmly received the guests.

Huang gave a brief introduction of SCBG including its history, research fields, and achievements. Mr. Imoto Katsue, the president of the company, expressed his interests in collaboration with SCBG for research on sustainable utilization of plant resources. In the afternoon, Dr. Mizutani Kenji, a member of the delegation, gave a lecture of "the tendency of cosmetic market in Japan".
